THIS IS A .40 FTE PART-TIME POSITION
The Occupational Therapist as a member of the educational team, supports the education of students suspected of and/or diagnosed with disability in their least restrictive environment. The occupational therapist develops, implements and coordinates an occupational therapy program that includes providing screening, evaluation and interventions services.

- Provides direct, indirect, and consultative therapy services to eligible students.
- Administers evaluations, writes reports and develops IEPs on students referred and identified for special education services for student’s age birth-21.
- Completes all required paperwork within required timelines as provided by regulations. Maintains timely and accurate student records, data and reports.
- Maintains timely and accurate student records, data and reports.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with parents and staff.
- Participates as a collaborative team member in Child Find, Evaluation, and IEP meetings.
- Provides consultation to parents and school staff regarding augmentative devices and assists students in the use of augmentative devices.
- Designs and administers treatment programs to increase students’ levels of functioning. Provides therapy and/or consultation for autism spectrum disorders.
- Provides therapy and/or consultation for autism spectrum disorders.
- Assists with prevocational programming for students age 14-21. Keeps abreast of research and new techniques.
- Attends appropriate professional and educational meetings.
- Assists in identifying and ordering assistive technology for students in need.
- Supervises paraeducators as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Washington ESA Certificate in Occupational Therapy
- Valid Washington Occupational Therapy License
- Prefer training and/or experience in assessment, IEP development and program implementation
- Expertise in word processing and willingness to learn the Special Education software system (currently IEP Online)
- Sound understanding of regulations governing special education
