Job Summary
The Oakville Middle/High School is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic program as an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the 2025/2026 school season. This seasonal position involves supporting the head coach in developing and implementing training programs, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and competitive environment for our student-athletes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport of basketball, strong communication skills, and a commitment to the personal and athletic development of the players.

Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices, including skill development, drills, and conditioning.
- Help develop game strategies and prepare the team for competitions.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic.
- Monitor and assess individual player performance, offering constructive feedback for improvement.
- Assist with team logistics, including scheduling, transportation, and equipment management.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and player progress.
- Support the head coach during games, including player substitutions, strategy implementation, and maintaining a positive team atmosphere.
- Ensure compliance with all school and league regulations regarding player eligibility and conduct.
- Promote the program and encourage participation in basketball among students.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably in basketball, at the middle or high school level.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, players, and school staff.
- First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
- A commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.
- A background check required prior to employment.
