HS English Teacher

Summary
Bethany High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our faculty on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for literature, improve their writing skills, and enhance their critical thinking abilities. This position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting students' academic and personal growth.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and the school's curriculum.
- Teach various English courses, including literature, composition, and language arts, to high school students.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Create a classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation among students.
- Encourage students to explore diverse literary works and develop their analytical skills through discussions and written assignments.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events to contribute to the school community.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and teaching strategies.
- Support students in developing effective study habits and preparing for college and career readiness.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or license in English Language Arts for high school.
- Previous teaching experience in a high school setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of English language and literature, including various literary genres and writing techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students and work effectively with staff and parents.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
- A passion for literature and a commitment to fostering a love of reading and writing in students.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
