QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Washington Administrative Credential (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
  • Master's degree in School Administration, Education, or related field
  • Successful experience as a classroom teacher and building administrator preferred
  • Criminal justice fingerprint clearance

Contract: Based upon 240 days, including vacation and benefits, and with a current salary range of $146,251 to $164,132 (24-25 Salary Schedule)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide quality educational leadership that creates a learning environment sensitive to diverse socioeconomic and ethnic groups served
  • Promote an environment that fosters high expectations, performance, respect and dignity for all students and staff
  • Lead the staff, management teams, and community in a positive team effort, working cooperatively with employees, students, parents and community
  • Support special education and regular education to ensure the success of all students
  • Work collaboratively with staff to establish program and staffing levels which are appropriate and sensitive to existing site and district resources
  • Lead a school-wide discipline system, specifically Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS)
  • Demonstrate professional preparation and scholarship
  • Create a data-driven plan for school improvement which supports the District's Strategic Plan
  • Increase teacher effectiveness through professional learning, evaluation and support     

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Evidence of successful experience and training needed to perform the functions as needed to be a successful elementary school principal
  • Understanding of effective instruction, and effective academic and social/emotional support systems
  • Knowledge of state learning standards
  • Ability to develop and sustain focus on a shared mission and clear vision for improvement of teaching and learning
  • Ability to use data to drive instructional and program decisions
  • Experience in using data analysis protocols to develop learning goals
  • Knowledge, experience, and training relative to recognizing good professional performance, capabilities, and development
  • Leadership style that develops teamwork, motivation, accountability and appropriate delegation
  • Training and skills in personnel evaluations for all school staff
  • Training and skills using an instructional framework (Danielson preferred) to evaluate teachers
  • Demonstrated ability to connect with students, staff and community members in a mutually respectful, supportive and accessible manner
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with parent and community partners
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
