The Elma School District is accepting applications for the following classified position:

2024-2025

Middle School

1:1 Student Support Paraprofessional

6.5 hours per day, (Monday through Friday)

EESP Salary Schedule Rate Range:

·         $24.38 - $28.00

Benefits Include:

  • Twelve (12) Days Sick Leave per school year

Responsibilities:

Work 1:1 with a student and the teacher in an instructional support and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

·         High School diploma or GED

·                     Meets NCLB definition of highly qualified requirements:

·         A two-year Associate degree

·         72-quarter or 48-semester college credits, or

·         A passing score of 461 on the ETS Para Pro Assessment

·         WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance (fee paid by the employee)

Desired Qualifications:

·         Work with students in a one-on-one setting to provide academic and behavioral support

·         Assist with personal care needs of student: diapering, feeding, mobility

·         Keep choking hazards out of reach of student

·         Able to follow directives of teacher regarding care of student

·         Provide support during classroom activities and field trips

·         Right Response trained

·         Follows the direction of the certificated teacher

·         Able to support the meeting of IEP goals

·         Functional member of the building SpEd team

·         Seeks out strategies to improve student interactions

·          Maintains schedule

·         Reliable in demeanor, attendance, and collaboration

·         Positive and flexible attitude with students, staff, parents, and community members

·         Willingness to work toward successful demonstration of core competencies

·         Must participate in the Fundamental Course Training to gain the necessary skills to perform this position

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality

·         Demonstrated competence in basic academic/communication skills appropriate to site assignment

·         Regular attendance is an essential function of this position

·         The safety and health of students and others are essential functions of this position

·         Other duties as assigned
