Winter Cheer Head Coach

·         Position will remain open until filled

Request Start Date: 11/17/2025

Salary Stipend Range:

·         $3,985.80 - $4,349.80

Benefits Include:

·         I-1433 Sick Leave, the employee will accrue at least one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every forty (40) hours worked

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Must be at least 19 years or older
  • Current First Aid and CPR endorsement or be enrolled in the course
  • Must have a WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance check (fee paid by employee)
  • Meet the WIAA coaching standard criteria
  • Clear communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and community
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the sport skill, strategy and rules
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position

Examples of Duties:

  • Provide direct leadership and organization for all levels of the assigned sport/activity
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cheerleading program that emphasizes safety, skill development, and team building
  • Provide instruction and feedback to athletes to help them improve their skills and techniques
  • Create and maintain a positive team culture that fosters teamwork, sportsmanship and respect
  • Provide direct ongoing supervision of all athletes, manage before/during/after all practices/conditioning sessions games/travel and other school-sanctioned events
  • Report all injuries to the Athletic Director, and complete appropriate report(s)
  • Immediately reports all violations or suspected violations of established rules and regulations to the Athletic Director
  • Organizes and conducts, in coordination with the Athletic Director, parent meetings prior to the season an provides ongoing parent communication throughout the season
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and the fundamental skills necessary to execute the program in a successful manner
  • Assume responsibility clearing all athletes who are returning to play after an injury through the Athletic Director
  • Monitors student compliance with all provisions of the ESD Athletic Code, and comply with WIAA Rules and Regulations
  • Organizes award and recognition for athletes/participants
  • Responsible for a clean and orderly storage facility

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience coaching cheerleading at the high school level
  • Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, safety procedures, and rules and regulations
  • The safety and health of students and others is an essential function of this position
