Salary Stipend Range:

  • $1,379.70 - $1,505.70

Benefits Include:

  • I-1433 Sick Leave, the employee will accrue at least one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every forty (40) hours worked

Summary:
 We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced coach to join our team for the upcoming season. The Inclusive Division Elma High School Track Coach will be responsible for coaching and mentoring a team of athletes in the Ambulatory or Unified Division of the track program (to include students with and without disabilities). This is a seasonal position that requires a commitment to attend practices and competitions throughout the season. The coach will report to the Head High School Track Coach, Unified District Advisor, and Athletic Director, and follow all Elma High School Track rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Must be at least 21 years or older
  • Current First Aid and CPR endorsement or be enrolled in the course
  • Must have a WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance check (fee paid by employee)
  • Meet the WIAA coaching standard criteria
  • Clear communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and community
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the sport skill, strategy and rules
  • Prior coaching experience or playing experience in the sport is given preference
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position

Examples of Duties:

  • Develop and implement training programs for athletes in the Ambulatory or Unified Division of the track program (to include students with and without disabilities).
  • Provide guidance and support to athletes in achieving their goals.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Collaborate with the Head High School Track Coach, Unified District Advisor, Athletic Director, other coaches, and staff to ensure the success of the team.
  • Attend all practices and competitions throughout the season.
  • Maintain accurate records of athlete progress and team performance.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes.
  • Provide direct leadership and organization for all levels of the assigned sport/activity.
  • Supervise all athletes before, during, and after practices, conditioning sessions, games, travel, and other school-sanctioned events.
  • Develop appropriate objectives for the assigned sport/activity.
  • Maintain knowledge of league and district rules and regulations related to the assigned sport/activity, student participation, and parent/community involvement.
  • Continually teach and emphasize safety procedures and precautions to all athletes.
  • Report all injuries to the Athletic Director and complete appropriate reports.
  • Immediately report all violations or suspected violations of established rules and regulations to the Athletic Director and Unified District Advisor.
  • Organize and conduct, in coordination with the Athletic Director, parent meetings prior to the season and provide ongoing parent communication throughout the season.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and fundamental skills necessary to execute the program successfully.
  • Assume a leadership role in team organization, style of play, practice schedules, equipment management, and assigned responsibilities.
  • Ensure that athletes returning to play after an injury have been cleared by the Athletic Director and Unified District Advisor.
  • Monitor student compliance with all provisions of the ESD Athletic Code and WIAA Rules and Regulations.
  • Organize award and recognition programs for athletes/participants.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly storage facility.
