Special Ed Para

Summary:
We are seeking a Full-Time Special Education Para to work with students who may have disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working in special education and will be passionate about helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the special education teacher/teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities/behaviors
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with disabilities in academic, social, and emotional areas
- Assist with classroom management and behavior interventions
- Help students with disabilities with personal care needs, such as toileting and feeding, as needed
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, professional development, and other school events as required

Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; some college coursework in education or related field is preferred/AA degree or Para test Required. Fingerprinting is required at the local ESD.

- Continuing education with Fundamental course of study, ELL/Spec ED/General Certification
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a school or other educational setting
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the job
- Physical ability to assist students with disabilities with personal care needs, as required
