Regional Administrator Pathfinder BCBA Job Description

Purpose Statement

The job of Regional Administrator- Pathfinder Services Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is done for the purpose/s of assisting the Pathfinder Services Director in the administration and behavioral programming of Pathfinder Services and serving as the BCBA for the Moving All Students to Success and Health team. The Pathfinder Services BCBA will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide specialized and individual support to students and staff enrolled in the MASH program, support districts in the ESD113 region with professional development opportunities and providing consultation to school districts regarding behavioral supports. The Pathfinder Services BCBA will maintain a caseload and meet regularly with all members of a student's team, including parents and caregivers, school staff, and any community support that may be necessary for the student's continued success. The BCBA will be responsible for training, creating trauma informed functional behavior assessments (FBAs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and coaching through skills-based treatment plans.

Essential Functions

Assists in building a team to determine eligibility and coordinate the delivery of appropriate services for new student referrals. Works with referred students, their teachers, and families to modify inappropriate behavior, for the purpose of supporting student success.
Assists in developing student programs and/or activities to promote positive student behavior, as well as intervention strategies, for the purpose of ensuring effective behavior management.
Conducts Practical Functional Assessments and develops comprehensive Skills-Based Treatment plans as part of the student's intervention package, for the purpose of promoting skill development.
Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develops comprehensive Behavior Interventions Plans (BIPs) as part of the student's IEP/IFSP, for the purpose of addressing behavioral challenges.
Ensures ongoing data collection and monitoring of data to develop and/or recommend program changes, for the purpose of maintaining program efficacy.
Gathers and analyzes information to understand and plan for the presenting needs of the child and family, for the purpose of effective intervention planning.
Maintains a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records to provide up-to-date references and an audit trail for compliance with ESD, local, state, and federal regulations, for the purpose of ensuring accountability.
Participates as a member of the evaluation team and IEP/IFSP committee by contributing evaluation findings and/or collaborating on the child's education program plan, for the purpose of enhancing educational outcomes.
Provides supervision and mentorship for fellow Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) in compliance with policies and procedures detailed by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB), for the purpose of maintaining high professional standards.
Provides ongoing training and professional development in the area of applied behavioral analysis, for the purpose of enhancing staff competency.

Utilizes appropriate crisis prevention and intervention strategies to ensure effective de-escalation in compliance with Washington State WACs and Emergency Response Protocols in situations where students pose an imminent threat to self or others, for the purpose of ensuring safety.

Marginal Functions

Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Summit program.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: applying assessment techniques; operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software application; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: Understanding the needs of a diverse population of students (including, but not limited to students with autism, emotional and behavior disorders, mental health needs, etc.); age appropriate activities; concepts of grammar and punctuation; school restructuring processes; performance-based assessments and scoring rubrics; and pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 30% walking, and 50% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.

Education (Minimum)

Bachelors degree in job-related area.

Masters Degree or Advanced Training Preferred.
