Glenbrook South High School is seeking Instructional Assistants - Advanced Support: Permanent Substitute (General Instruction) for the 2026 -2027 school year with a start date of August 10, 2026.

The Instructional Assistant - Permanent Substitute - General Education will directly support student instruction in the classroom or resource area setting. The primary responsibility is to act as a substitute teacher for certified teachers within the general education classroom. The staff member may also be assigned to one, or a combination, of the following: Classroom Instructional Support, Resource Area Tutoring Support, Personal Care Support, and Classroom Instructional Assistant Substitute. Assignments will vary on a daily basis.

Education and/or Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a content area taught within the school district is required.
Valid Substitute License or Professional Educator License required.
Experience working with adolescents.
Experience in an educational environment is preferred.
A desire for continued professional development is essential.

Professional Educator License (PEL): $0.50 per hour
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification: $0.50 per hour
Longevity: 5-10 Years of completed continuous service as an IA: $0.50 per hour, or 11+ Years of completed continuous service: $1.00 per hour.
