Rate of Pay: Based on applicable step/salary per CEA contract.

Qualifications:

● Must hold certified school social worker endorsement (SSW)

Job Responsibilities:

● Services provided to students include the following:

o Crisis intervention

o Participation in building –based multidisciplinary teams

o Interventions within the general education classrooms

o Parent consultation, education, resource

o Direct interventions with students based on teacher referral, parent referral, or self-referral

o Observation of students within the general education classroom

o Gathering of background and current behavioral information

o Organization and facilitation of student groups on a wide range of topics

o Home visits

o Providing substance abuse consultation and referral to parents and students

o New student orientation

● Services provided under Special Education include the following:

o Participation in multidisciplinary teams to provide diagnostic services leading to possible Special Education certification; this may include:

o Collection of background information

o Observation of students

o Parent interviews

o Collection of teacher data

o Student interview

o Formalized diagnostic written evaluations

o Participation in the Student Evaluation Review Process

o Lead the Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)

o Lead the creation and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and behavioral contracts

o Participation is completing all necessary forms as part of a Special Education evaluation

o Collaboration in creating student goals

o Participation in multidisciplinary evaluation team meeting

o Participation in Individualized Education Program Team meetings

o Participation in teams focusing on the needs of certified Special Education students

● Consultation with Special Education teachers regarding students in program

● Consultation with parents of in-program students

● Participation in the 504 process as needed

● Liaison services are provided by school social workers for both general and Special Education.
