Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Capability to write & enter journal entries into the General Ledger.
Employee reimbursement process
Accounts receivable processes
Accounts payable process, checking invoices, communicating with school personnel, working with vendors, and resolving problems or disputes.
Reconcile vendor credit accounts
Positive pay processes
Assist with maintaining cash flow data
Distribution and reconciliation of open purchase orders reports
Maintains district records for purchasing and accounts payable.
Explain district policies to staff/vendors regarding purchasing, accounts payable, and employee reimbursements.
Review, process, and pay all authorized vendors. Ensure timely entry of data into the financial management system.
Maintain files of paid and unpaid invoices and purchase orders.
Prepare, verify, and distribute checks for various district funds.
Respond to expenditure/budget questions from district administrators.
Prepare information in response to requests for payment history.
Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment of invoice(s).
Process 1099’s for year-end reporting.
Maintain IRS W-9 file.
Prepare documentation for transparency reporting
Other duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer.
Participates in Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) to gain knowledge and achieve MSBO certification.
