Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team at Deer River High School as a Secretary for the Alternative Learning Program (ALP). This full-time position is essential in providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the program. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting students in alternative education settings.

Responsibilities
- Manage daily administrative tasks for the Alternative Learning Program, including scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and coordinating communications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, and staff regarding program information and inquiries.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of program materials, reports, and correspondence.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including attendance and academic progress.
- Support the ALP staff in organizing events, meetings, and workshops.
- Collaborate with teachers and counselors to facilitate student support services and resources.
- Monitor and order supplies for the program, ensuring that all materials are available for staff and students.
- Assist in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the Alternative Learning Program.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration is preferred.
- Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, staff, and parents.
- Knowledge of alternative education programs and student support services is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
