Summary
Deer River High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic program as a part-time (.5) Assistant Wrestling Coach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wrestling and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for our student-athletes. This role will support the head coach in developing athletes' skills, promoting teamwork, and ensuring a safe and productive practice environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily wrestling practices and training sessions.
- Provide instruction and guidance to athletes on techniques, strategies, and rules of wrestling.
- Help in the development of individual and team goals, fostering a culture of improvement and excellence.
- Monitor athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance skills and competitiveness.
- Assist in organizing and supervising wrestling matches and tournaments, including travel arrangements.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among athletes, coaches, and officials.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and policies related to the sport.

Requirements
- Previous experience in wrestling, either as a competitor or coach, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with athletes, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Must pass a background check and adhere to school district policies and guidelines.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the wrestling season.
