LaPoynor ISD is seeking a visionary and experienced leader to serve as Superintendent. Located in East Texas between the communities of LaRue and Poynor, our district spans 150 square miles and serves approximately 500 students across three campuses. With a dedicated team of 96 employees, LaPoynor ISD is committed to academic excellence, community partnership, and preserving the conservative values that define our region.

Qualifications & Characteristics of the Ideal Candidate:

• Holds a valid Texas Superintendent Certification (Superintendent experience preferred)

• A professional educator with classroom and administrative experience, committed to high standards

• Demonstrates strong knowledge of budgeting and public school finance

• Proven success in curriculum development and data-driven instructional strategies for diverse student populations

• Committed to working collaboratively with the Board of Trustees, parents, and community to uphold LaPoynor ISD’s values

• An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of making and defending difficult decisions in the best interest of students and the district

• A fair and effective leader with experience supervising staff, setting goals, conducting evaluations, fostering growth, and recruiting and retaining high-quality personnel
