Position Summary:

Lincoln County School District #1 is seeking a committed and energetic Assistant Coach to support our Middle School Girls Basketball program. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Lead Coach to help develop players’ skills, promote teamwork, and ensure a positive and safe environment for all student-athletes. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about basketball, enjoys working with middle school students, and values sportsmanship and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Lead Coach in planning and conducting practices.
Assist with skill development, conditioning, and game preparation.
Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.
Help manage team equipment, uniforms, and logistics.
Provide positive mentorship and guidance to student-athletes.
Ensure a safe and respectful environment both on and off the court.
Attend all scheduled practices, games, and meetings as required.
Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and school staff.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of basketball rules, fundamentals, and strategies.
Experience working with middle school students or coaching youth sports preferred.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, organized, and able to serve as a positive role model.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Must pass a background check per district requirements.
Valid PTSB coaching license or willingness to obtain within one year.
