BASIC FUNCTION

The Accounts Payable Assistant aids the Account Payable Coordinator in a variety of ways specifically including payment and record keeping of District invoices, processing bills and other duties related to purchasing and filing.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

1. Modern office practices, procedures and equipment

2. Record-keeping techniques

3. Microsoft Word and Excel

4. Accounting procedures

5. Operation of a computer terminal and data entry techniques

6. Correct English usage grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary

7. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy

8. Telephone techniques and etiquette

9. Operations, procedures, specific rules and precedents of the office
