The Grace Milliman Pollock Performing Arts Center operates to carry out Grace Pollock's vision to "provide an attractive and functional venue for young children as well and people of all ages to enjoy the beauty of the arts and music on into the future" to be used "primarily for Camp Hill students and community residents alike."

The Camp Hill School District is seeking candidates for the Director of The Pollock Center position to develop and plan for the implementation of the vision while managing all aspects of The Pollock Center including program growth, operations, maintenance, and revenue generation.

Job Summary:

Presides over The Pollock Center in accordance with District Policy and the vision for the Grace Milliman Pollock Performing Arts Center, including program growth, revenue generation, operation and maintenance within the educational environment of a K-12 school district.

Essential Functions:

Develops and plans for implementation of the vision of for the Grace Milliman Pollock Performing Arts Center in conjunction with the District Leadership Team.
Manage all aspects of The Pollock Center including but not limited to:
- Program development and growth to maximize the use of The Pollock Center to enhance arts, dance, music, and theater programs for the District and community.
- Implementation and enforcement of related District policies in the oversight and management of the facility.
- Processing Pollock Center facility use applications and bring forward to the PAC Advisory Committee for review and ultimate Board approval.
- Drafting contracts for facility rentals and ensuring insurance coverage is adequate.
- Preparation and recommendation of contracts for lessees.
- Scheduling all events inclusive of the Grace Milliman Pollock Performing Arts Center facility.
- Coordination of all technical aspects of the Grace Milliman Pollock Performing Arts Center.
- Supervision of Pollock Center staff and related personnel.
- Preparation and management of Pollock Center programming, operations, and maintenance budget recommendations in coordination with the Director of Business and Operations.
Serves as Chair of the Pollock Advisory Committee and fulfills the responsibilities as outlined in the First Amendment to the Agreement between the Lion Foundation and the School District.
Promotes short-term rentals at the PAC to enhance arts, dance, music, theater, and cultural appreciation in the District and community and ensures that District student activities remain a priority when scheduling events within the Performing Arts Center.
Supports philosophy of programming for cultural, educational, and entertainment events.
Works with the Superintendent and other administrators in the long-range planning to bring in performing arts center performances that enhance educational standards for all grade levels.
Coordinates with administration and Fine Arts staff to prepare for District events, including, but not limited to, concerts, music festivals, and opening day activities and acts as a consultant for all other major events happening throughout the District.
Creates and implements plans for proper housekeeping and safety measures to ensure the safety and security of staff, students, and visitors to the PAC during and after the regularly scheduled school day, including but not limited to, timely set strike, proper storage procedures, and facility entry procedures. Coordinates with District Safety & Security Coordinator where needed to ensure that the PAC is in compliance with District and local, state, and federal safety policies and procedures.
Communicates with building administration, parents, and community members regarding PAC procedures and upcoming programming.
Leads monthly meetings with building principals to support integration of the PAC in the school community.
Develops and oversees the execution of strategies for gaining local and regional recognition of PAC public events and student production participants.
Supervises PAC Artistic Director, Administrative Assistant, instructors, contractors, and/or any additional personnel or volunteers working in the PAC.
Oversees personnel concerns at the PAC including processing time sheets for private instructors and scheduling and supervising necessary staff and visitors for all events.
Trains, supervises, and monitors the work of students and assistants for the purpose of providing technical education in a safe environment.
Implements all rules and regulations, policies, and administrative guidelines as adopted by the School Board.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

Engages in public relations activities to enhance the public perception of The Pollock Center.
Oversees all District drama programs and supervises related extra-duty contracts.
Identifies and maintains a list of School Board approved technicians and staff to operate the Pollock Center during all events.
Provides periodic training for approved technicians, staff, and volunteers.
Coordinates, supervises, and manages all aspects of the Summer Stage Program in conjunction with the Artistic Director.
Works extended hours as needed to support evening and weekend events.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and related arts and theater experience. Working knowledge of technical and production aspects. Demonstrated experience in management of and in operational activities for performing arts, entertainment, and rental facilities. Previous experience in school performing arts desired. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, sitting, standing, lifting, bending, climbing, and/or walking. Person must be able to communicate verbally and to hear with no more than 40-decibel hearing loss. Vision clarity of near, far and mid-range (less than 20 inches and more than 20 feet) is needed. Depth perception and ability to identify colors is recommended.
