Alexandria Public Schools Community Education offers a wide variety of youth and adult programs throughout the year. Community Education is looking for creative, energetic, and personable people who have a passion for families and have outstanding customer service skills to join our dynamic team.

Compass is Alexandria Community Education’s school-age care program, providing before and after-school, non-school day and summer care for students PreK-6th Grade.

Essential Functions:

Provide participants and Compass team with the appropriate leadership
Support planning activities that incorporate program goals into the daily routine.
Provide a warm, caring and safe atmosphere for participants and colleagues.
Collaborate with staff in evaluating individual student needs and approaches to positive behavior.
Communicate with parents through daily drop off and pick up and/or during parent meetings
Provide behavior support for students
Apply their unique skillset to assist with the development and implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans.
Help students develop social skills and eliminate or reduce negative or disruptive behaviors

Qualifications:

Must have previous experience working with PreK-6th Grade students.
Previous leadership experience
Be a self starter and perform the job with little supervision.
Must be able to handle any questions that arise with students, colleagues and/or parents
Preferred CPI and Ukero certification.

Compensation: $18-$20 per hour
