1.0 FTE - Student Assistance Program (SAP) Coordinator

The student assistance program coordinator's primary task is to develop and implement developmental and preventative programs and services which assist students to enhance and improve healthy lifestyle choices, social-emotional wellbeing, and leadership knowledge and skills. The student assistance program coordinator is responsible for the organization and operation of alcohol and other drug use prevention and intervention activities in accordance with department, school and district goals, objectives, policies and procedures. The student assistance program coordinator is accountable to their department head and principal or designee. The Counseling and Student Support Services Department seeks to assist all students to become effective learners, to gain and maintain confidence in their capacities, and to make choices and decisions crucial to their own as well as society's well-being. Cooperating with fellow counselors, deans, psychologists, social workers, teachers, and their department chair, the student assistance program coordinator will facilitate student achievement of established Counseling and Student Support Service goals through a variety of appropriate counseling techniques.
