SUMMARY
The Woodbridge School District consists of one school: Beecher Road School, a PreK-6 elementary school employing approximately 165 staff members to serve and educate approximately 870 students. Woodbridge is one of Connecticut’s best towns, and Beecher Road School is the heart of the town! For the 2024/25 school year, the District seeks teachers' assistants for special education settings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interacts with children under the direction of the classroom teacher, special education teacher, and/or other personnel
- Implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Student Behavior Intervention Plans, and/or Individualized Health Plans as needed
- Supports and collaborates with other educational staff to support students
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Background, interest, and/or expertise in working with and/or supervising children
- Strong oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, clerical skills, and technology skills
- Two-year degree and/or passing score on ParaPro Assessment
Preferred:
- Background, interest, and/or expertise in working with and/or supervising children with special needs, physical challenges, and/or special equipment (e.g., wheelchair, stander)
- Background, interest, and/or expertise in data collection
SALARY AND BENEFITS
This position is a full-time, school-year position. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the District and the Woodbridge Paraeducators Association.
