Contract/Salary Range/Benefits: 183 Days/MEA 24-25 Salary Schedule ($61,288 - $121,252), SEBB insurance, PFML, Washington DRS, paid days off (12 sick days and 2 personal days)
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate - endorsed in English and/or K-8 Elementary Education
- Knowledge of current trends in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology
- Experience planning instructional opportunities using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Must be able to safely lift and/or move equipment and supplies as needed in the course of classroom instruction
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
Responsibilities:
- Work cooperatively and efficiently with administrators, staff, students, and parents
- Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team when requested and maintain positive inter-staff communications
- Show evidence of adequate planning and preparation using UDL strategies while maintaining an organized classroom conducive to learning
- Ability to focus students' attention on the lesson while clearly stating objectives while skillfully applying teaching strategies with the ability to adjust instruction to meet various student needs
- Evaluate, monitor, and report student learning and progress; using applicable data to drive instructional decisions
- Must be able to establish clear expectations for student "in-classroom" conduct making expectations known to students
- Must show enthusiasm, as well as guide and assist students while providing instruction
- Provide individual and group services to children and/or parents that emphasize improved educational performance and/or conduct
- Demonstrate evidence of continued learning interests related to academics, technology, and improved standards of learning
