This posting is for an Assistant Coach-Girls Volleyball at W.F. West High School. The season is anticipated to start August 26, 2024 and end November 1, 2024.

In-District applicants will receive first consideration. Rate of pay based on experience and the Extra-Curricular Activities Salary Schedule. The stipend range is $3,469 - $4,108.

The job of the Assistant Coach is to help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and organization for assigned sport/activity as directed by the Head Coach and building administrators
  • Assist with organizing and supervising activities during practices and games
  • Arrange a systematic and responsible method of issuing and recording school equipment and clothing issued to students
  • Maintain regular communication with the head coach and building administrators at all times
  • Assist to insure that all practices and games (including locker rooms) are supervised by a coach at all times
  • Produce an inventory of equipment and work with the head coach to see that all the equipment and clothing is properly recorded and stored; submit completed inventory to the District Athletic Director at the end of the season
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Complete work at assigned workstations
  • Consistently deal with people in a courteous and professional manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Successful prior experience as an Assistant, Head or Volunteer Coach in the designated sport/activity
  • Strong background in designated sport/activity
  • Teaching certification desired but not required  

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing:

  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification Card
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance (cost paid by applicant)
  • Knowledge of WIAA rules and regulations as they pertain to designated sport/activity
  • Meets WIAA coaching standards
  • Type II driver's endorsement (driver's abstract and Type II employee medical statement)
  • Additional trainings as required by the Chehalis School District

Reports to:  Head Coach, District Athletic Director, and Building Principal

Compensation and Benefits:
The District complies with State Law regarding SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) eligibility and benefits. Coaching positions are not anticipated to meet the SEBB eligibility requirements.
