Summary

The Technology Training Specialist provides specialized skills training and technical support for district technologies. This position serves as the lead facilitator for software and hardware training, ensuring all staff and faculty can successfully leverage our technology platforms and systems. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive customer service orientation to maintain and enhance high-quality support relationships. Examples demonstrative of high quality service may include, but are not limited to, prompt responses to inquiries, professional and courteous verbal and non-verbal communication, and proactive problem solving.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Design and deliver engaging and effective training (one-on-one, group, and virtual) to maximize staff and faculty technology proficiency
Serve as a catalyst for technology adoption, providing knowledge and education on new technology features to ensure staff are proficient and comfortable with all district systems
Develop and implement technology onboarding and continuous professional learning programs to enhance workforce capability and effectiveness
Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, FAQs, and knowledgebase articles for staff, faculty, and parents, covering software changes and system capabilities
Provide configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting support for district technology, including resolving technical support ticket requests
Support the deployment and maintenance of student and staff technology, specifically assisting with the student laptop learning program and implementing key IT projects
Develop customer relationships by providing timely issue status updates; act as the technical liaison for third-party software vendors
Collaborate closely with the Penn Manor IT Team to ensure the delivery of accessible, effective, and dependable technology solutions
Remain current in the field of technology by participating in technology workshops, seminars, certification programs, and other professional learning opportunities
Performs other duties and tasks assigned by the Chief Information Officer, Director of Technology Operations, Building Principal, or Leadership Team

Qualifications

Demonstrated success in designing and delivering technology skills training and workshops to adult learners is required.
A degree in a related field and/or two or more years of successful experience as a technology trainer is required.
Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace for Education is required.
Working knowledge of ChromeOS, MacOS, and Windows is preferred.
Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple projects concurrently, and to work independently and as a member of a team
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and access to personal transportation required
Pre-employment clearances and physical examination as designated by the PA School Code

Must possess experience responding with sensitivity to individuals from diverse backgrounds and be able to establish and maintain productive and effective, inclusive working relationships amongst diverse populations.
Must demonstrate maturity and integrity when handling confidential data.

Physical Requirements and Sensory Abilities

Sustained Movement: Ability to engage in frequent walking and standing throughout the workday, as required by the responsibilities of the position
Moderate Lifting and Carrying: Capability to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Visual Acuity: Sufficient eyesight to effectively read and interpret significant amounts of written materials, including correspondence, reports, and data displayed on computer screens
Auditory Acuity: Ability to clearly understand telephone and in-person oral communication for effective interaction with colleagues, students, parents, and other stakeholders
Manual Dexterity: Skill in using hands and fingers to operate various office equipment, such as computers, printers, telephones, and other tools necessary for daily tasks
Clear and Distinct Speech: Ability to communicate verbally in a manner that is easily understood by others
