Job Location: For Possibility of Multiple Positions – Multiple buildings within the ISD

Minimal Qualifications Requirements:
1. Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Teacher of Speech and Language Impairments per R340.1796.
2. Michigan License to practice Speech and Language Pathology
3. CCC-SLP (ASHA) – Candidates in their CFY may be considered.
4. Ability to work with students in pre-k to 12th-grade students, and depending on the assignment, can work with children from birth to age 3.
5. Is able to work and communicate effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, staff, school administrators, community agencies, etc.
6. Is flexible and able to prioritize work schedule.
7. The need to be dependable and reliable is paramount in this position.
8. Demonstrate leadership skills to work effectively with staff, administrators, and outside agencies in the delivery of special education services.
9. Understand and demonstrate the knowledge of the Michigan Right-to-Know law and its practices.
10. Excellent oral and written communication skills (use of computer and applicable software)
11. Present self and appearance in a professional manner.
12. Ability to lift and carry testing equipment
13. Must have dependable transportation and a valid Michigan driver’s license.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Follow all established laws, policies, practices and procedures in terms of duties and responsibilities of the position.
2. Provide services to all students on your caseload according to what is written in the IEP.
3. Complete necessary and appropriate evaluations and reports to support recommendations to IEP Teams relative to eligibility for Special Education and to support direct instruction for students assigned to their caseload.
4. Keep detailed and accurate documentation (logs and notes) to allow the completion of required progress notes, and to support retention and/or dismissal of Speech and Language Services to the student.
5. Provide direct or support instruction as per the student’s IEP to improve speech and language skills of students.
6. Be part of the MTSS/RTI process as identified by the district of assignment.
7. Prepare for and participate in IEP team meetings for each student on the caseload.
8. Meet all due dates with required paperwork of the position that include but are not limited to REEDs, IEPs, IFSPs, Medicaid, evaluation reports, etc.
9. Maintain all required licensing and professional development for the position.
