POSITION SUMMARY:

Soap Lake School District is seeking a student-centered Elementary School Principal to lead our Preschool–Grade 6 building. This role requires a collaborative leader who builds trust, engages families and staff, and ensures sound fiscal and operational management. The successful candidate will support students and staff by fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving school culture. Contracted July 1 - June 30; 215 days per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guide and support implementation of high-impact, research-based instructional strategies to improve student learning.
  • Assist instructional staff with alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with state and district learning goals.
  • Foster a culture of data-informed decision making to monitor growth and close opportunity gaps.
  • Support teacher teams through collaborative professional learning and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee a school-wide MTSS framework to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure timely interventions and progress monitoring.
  • Promote an inclusive school environment where all students feel respected, supported, and have access to high-quality learning.
  • Ensure equitable access to resources and support services for students with diverse needs, including students with disabilities and English learners.
  • Implement restorative approaches that strengthen relationships and provide constructive responses to behavior.
  • Maintain a safe and positive school climate built on respect, accountability, and support.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and the school community.
  • Support and develop staff through ongoing feedback, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Manage school resources responsibly and align the budget with school goals and student needs.
  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, safety protocols, and building maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field.
  • Valid Washington Administrator Certificate is required.
  • Minimum of five years of successful teaching or administrative experience.
  • Teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of elementary education, curriculum development, and instructional best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in student behavior management, Positive Behavioral Support and Intervention (PBIS) systems, and inclusive and restorative practices.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, technology integration, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively in partnership with parents, staff, students, and the community to promote student-centered learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive, equitable, and engaging learning environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing educational needs with a flexible, collaborative, and positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, experience with, and willingness to work with multilingual learners and students with special needs.
