Adlai E. Stevenson High School is seeking a 10 month, part-time Little Patriots Staff position for the 2025-2026 school year.

The Little Patriots Staff - Applied Arts Division, is a part-time, 10-month, support staff position. We are seeking a motivated and engaged individual to join our preschool lab school program part-time. This position is ideal for someone passionate about working with young children in a dynamic learning environment. The ideal candidate will bring energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to fostering a positive, supportive, and engaging experience for preschoolers, and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues.

Daily Hours: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (6 hours, part time schedule)

Responsibilities:

Supervise and engage with preschool-aged children in a safe and nurturing environment.
Support children's daily routines, including lunch, snack time, playtime, and rest periods.
Foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere that encourages curiosity and creativity.
Collaborate with the Lab School Coordinator to maintain a structured and engaging classroom.
Communicate effectively with staff and parents to ensure a positive experience for all children.
Assist with classroom organization, setup, and clean-up.
Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for the children as needed/delegated
Attend meetings, open houses, family events
Provide input and suggestions for weekly newsletter
Serve as a mentor and role model for high school students

Qualifications:

Experience working with young children is preferred.
Enthusiastic, patient, and dependable with a passion for early childhood education.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic preschool setting.
Must pass pre-employment requirements including a background check.
Ideal candidate will have early childhood education college coursework

Salary:
SSSA Agreement (all support staff positions at Stevenson High School shall be paid no less than $17.75/hour). The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.
