Full time: 190 days a year, 8 hours a day

Rate of Pay: $31.41/hr to $39.26/hr, starting hourly rate is based on applicable experience. This position is fully benefit eligible, including medical, dental, retirement, life, and generous paid time off. See attached premium sheet.

Position Information

This position oversees the implementation of the Education Assistant & Administrative Support Mentorship program and provides support to mentors and mentees. Creates training and professional development for Education Assistant Specialists and Administrative Support Staff. Communicates important information to Education Assistant Specialists, administrative support staff and their supervisors. Provides training, support, and solutions to individuals as needed. Collaborates and provides input with Special Education Induction Specialist to create onboarding content for Teachers and Education Assistant Specialists. Develops online learning content.

Typical Class Responsibilities

Communicates professional development initiative information to both Education Assistants and district leadership; determines what information is relevant to communicate, deadlines for communicating reports, and forms of communication.
Monitors and evaluates the Education Assistant Mentorship Program through on-site training, face-to-face, and over the phone conversations determines the timeline, schedule, and structure for when mentors should be providing course trainings/meetings for new Education Assistant Specialists.
Participates in team meetings with mentors/mentees and checks-in routinely with mentors and mentees to help as needed.
Collaborates with educational services and special services staff to identify necessary resources; provides leadership and guidance in the design and on-going implementation of training, onboarding, and mentoring.
Assists staff in collaboration with key partners. Provides feedback and job specific support.
Designs and implements relevant coaching and professional development opportunities and provides feedback for Education Assistants.
Supports and evaluates professional development programs designed to improve employee effectiveness and increase student achievement.
Coordinates and conducts professional development needs assessments for Education Assistants.
Creates new course materials and trains/coaches mentors in best practices when working with new Education Assistants.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an education related field; three (3) years of work experience in classroom in different settings and with a variety of students needs and grade levels, and two (2) years of work experience as a mentor to new/ entry level Education Assistant Specialists.

Knowledge Requirements

Curriculum, tools/supports and lesson plans
District/program strategies for learning, behavior management, and support of students
District policies and procedures including third party billing, behavior incident reporting, mandated reporting, and data collection
Impact of specific disabilities on students
Individualized Education Plan (IEP), Proactive Behavior Management Plan (PBMP), and Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and how they are implemented
Trauma informed practices
Critical pedagogy

Skill Requirements

Written communication
