Education and Experience

· Valid principal or superintendent license

· Master’s Degree in administration or supervision

· Minimum of five (5) years’ teaching experience required.

Essential Functions

1. Provide administrative leadership to staff and students in all aspects of instructional, operational and safety programs.

2.Work cooperatively and effectively with all members of the administrative team.

3. Assume the duties of the chief administrative officer in the absence of the principal.

4. Responsible for the observation, coordination, and evaluation of staff members as assigned by the principal.

5. Responsible for providing educational leadership in curriculum areas including: State testing curriculum alignment with state standards and its implementation, Instructional technology, Analyzing student data, Instructional practices and materials, Professional development

6. Responsible for knowledge and implementation of the following areas as assigned by the principal: Master schedule development and curriculum effectiveness, Safe learning environment, Testing and intervention, Attendance and discipline, Activities, Facilities, Evaluation of staff, Department Chair Personnel, Student and staff handbooks

7. Ensure the execution of the board of education policies pertaining to attendance and discipline to all personnel and students while in the building, on the campus, or when transportation is furnished by school authorities or representatives.

8. Responsible for the safety and welfare of students and staff through: Safety drills, Crisis planning, Enforcement of student code of conduct, Emergency situations,

9. Supervise and coordinate the activities in: Attendance, Expulsion and suspension, Other disciplinary action, Notifications to guardians

10. Ensure appropriate record-keeping procedures for: Student records, Compliance with confidentiality requirements, Personnel files, Activity funds, Departmental budgets and documentation of expenditures, Supply and equipment accounts

11. Conduct and attend meetings as necessary: Faculty meetings, in-service, department head meetings, Parent meetings, Building Leadership Team (BLT), District Leadership Team (DLT), Teacher Based Teams (TBT), Student meetings (IEP, 504)
