Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Make short and long-range plans for each subject area of instruction.
• Provide for individual differences in the learning needs of students.
• Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter in classroom instruction.
• Provide a classroom climate that is based on mutual respect, rapport, fairness and consistency.
• Demonstrate competency in instructional skills
• Monitor student performance and be adaptable to current curriculum needs.
• Give students prompt and meaningful feedback on their performance.
• Interact positively with students, colleagues, parents and community members.
• Direct student teachers, educational assistants, student tutors and parent volunteers when such personnel are utilized.
• Handle student discipline and attendance problems and assist with the enforcement of all school rules.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality about students.
• Demonstrate interest in student leadership activities, and possess the ability to build and/or grow a program.
• Maintain and improve a quality program of instruction which is consistent with the adopted curriculum, goals and mission.
• Perform job-related, non-teaching duties.
• Participate in staff development activities.
• Participate in school improvement and parent involvement activities. 
• Perform other such duties as assigned by the building administrator.

Qualifications:

• Washington State Career and Technical Education Certificate with appropriate endorsement.
• Knowledge and ability to teach a variety of Agriculture Education courses that focus on Agri-Science coursework.
• Preference may be given to candidates with a full CTE Agriculture certificate and a General Education certificate with a science endorsement.
• Knowledge of FFA programs and ability to serve as an FFA advisor.
• Experience with supervised agriculture experience (SAE) programs for students.
• Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
