Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Make short and long-range plans for each subject area of instruction.
- Provide for individual differences in the learning needs of students.
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter in classroom instruction.
- Provide a classroom climate that is based on mutual respect, rapport, fairness and consistency.
- Demonstrate competency in instructional skills
- Monitor student performance and be adaptable to current curriculum needs.
- Give students prompt and meaningful feedback on their performance.
- Interact positively with students, colleagues, parents and community members.
- Direct student teachers, educational assistants, student tutors and parent volunteers when such personnel are utilized.
- Handle student discipline and attendance problems and assist with the enforcement of all school rules.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality about students.
- Demonstrate interest in student leadership activities, and possess the ability to build and/or grow a program.
- Maintain and improve a quality program of instruction which is consistent with the adopted curriculum, goals and mission.
- Perform job-related, non-teaching duties.
- Participate in staff development activities.
- Participate in school improvement and parent involvement activities.
- Perform other such duties as assigned by the building administrator.
Qualifications:
- Washington State Career and Technical Education Certificate with appropriate endorsement.
- Knowledge and ability to teach a variety of Agriculture Education courses that focus on Agri-Science coursework.
- Preference may be given to candidates with a full CTE Agriculture certificate and a General Education certificate with a science endorsement.
- Knowledge of FFA programs and ability to serve as an FFA advisor.
- Experience with supervised agriculture experience (SAE) programs for students.
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
