This position is a 0.60 FTE.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of accredited speech language therapy program with master’s degree or equivalent.
Valid Washington ESA certificate in Speech Language Therapy.
Prefer training and/or experience in assessment, IEP development, intervention planning.
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (preferred).
Candidate should have a sound understanding of regulations governing special education.
Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide, under the general supervision of the Director of Special Services and according to all special education law and regulation, diagnostic evaluations and therapy, to students ages 3-21; to function as a member of all special education teams; to help students reach maximum performance level, and to use these skills to the fullest to function in the community within the limits of their capabilities.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Administers evaluations, writes reports, and develops IEP’s on students referred and identified for special education services.
Completes all required paperwork within required timelines as provided by regulations.
Maintains timely and accurate student records, data, and reports.
Communicates effectively with parents and staff.
Participates as a collaborative team member in IEP and eligibility teams meetings.
Provides consultation to parents and school staff regarding augmentative communication devices and assists students in the use of augmentative communication devices.
Designs and administers treatment programs to increase students’ levels of functioning.
Provides therapy for autism spectrum disorders and stuttering.
Assists with prevocational programming for students age 14-21.
Keeps abreast of research and new techniques.
Attends appropriate professional and educational meetings
Supervise educational assistants as needed.
Perform other related duties as required
