We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Arts (ELA) teacher to join our dynamic team at Oakville High School for the 2025/2026 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for reading and writing while fostering critical thinking and effective communication skills. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum goals for ELA.
- Foster a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, encouraging student participation and collaboration.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods, including assignments, projects, and assessments.
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress and areas for improvement.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with special needs and English language learners.
- Incorporate technology and multimedia resources to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and share best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and teaching strategies.
- Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment and enforce school policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts for grades 9-12.
- Proven experience teaching ELA at the high school level, with a strong understanding of curriculum design and instructional strategies desired.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in using technology for educational purposes, including learning management systems and digital resources.
- Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
