Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at the Oakville School District as a full-time paraeducator for the 25/26 school year. The ideal candidate will support teachers in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for students. This role is essential in helping to enhance student engagement and academic success, particularly for those who may require additional assistance.

Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, addressing their individual learning needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Support students with special needs, including those with physical, emotional, or learning disabilities.
- Facilitate classroom management and promote positive behavior among students.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to develop strategies for student success.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, grading, and preparing instructional materials.
- Engage in school-wide activities and events to promote a sense of community and belonging.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting student learning and development.
- Knowledge of diverse learning styles and strategies to accommodate various student needs.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
- Background check and required certifications as per district policy.
