Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Special Education Life Skills Teacher for the 25-26 school year at Oakville Elementary School in Oakville, Washington. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with special needs, including those with learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and physical disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with elementary-aged students and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide direct instruction to students in small groups or one-on-one settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers to provide support and accommodations for students in the general education classroom
- Assess students' progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress and IEP goals
- Communicate regularly with parents and other members of the student's support team
- Attend and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education

Requirements:

-Criminal justice fingerprint clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- A Washington State Teaching Certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with special needs
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students with special needs succeed.

Oakville 2025-2026 Elementary Special Education Teacher
