Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Special Education Teacher to join our team at Century Lower Elementary School. This full-time position is focused on creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering the academic, social, and emotional development of each student while collaborating with families, staff, and external specialists.

A Hiring Incentive of $5800 is being offered with this position with a 3 year commitment for a Tier 3 or 4 license teacher

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with ASD.
- Create a structured and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and positive behavior.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to support student learning and development.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching methods and strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the successful integration of students into the classroom.
- Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, social skills, and life skills.
- Facilitate communication and social interactions among students to enhance peer relationships.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, behavior, and progress.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special education and ASD.
- Advocate for students' needs within the school and community, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education with an endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorder or other related fields.
- Experience working with students with ASD in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, specialists, and families.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with special needs.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies for supporting students with ASD.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in special education.
