Summary
Gooding Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic coach for the 7th Grade Boys Basketball team. This seasonal position requires a passionate individual who can inspire young athletes to develop their skills, foster teamwork, and promote a positive and competitive environment. The coach will work closely with players to enhance their understanding of the game while prioritizing sportsmanship and personal growth.

Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct daily practice sessions to develop players' skills and teamwork.
- Create game strategies and prepare the team for competitions.
- Monitor and evaluate players' progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and player development.
- Organize and oversee team logistics, including transportation, equipment management, and game schedules.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games.
- Attend all scheduled games and practices, demonstrating commitment and leadership.
- Promote the values of hard work, dedication, and resilience both on and off the court.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school level or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with players, parents, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to achieve their best.
- A strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred but not required.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
- Must be available to attend all practices and games, work evenings and some weekends during the basketball season.
