Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher-Itinerant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs across multiple school sites. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment, collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to ensure that each student reaches their full potential.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in various settings, including general education classrooms and resource rooms.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and paraprofessionals to create a cohesive support system for students.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies for support at home.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing insights and recommendations based on student performance and needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEP documentation, and related paperwork.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in special education through professional development and continuing education opportunities.
- Advocate for students' needs and rights within the school and community.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (OR a bachelor's degree in another area and would be willing to go through the alternate certification process to become fully certified).
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education (OR hold a bachelor's degree in another area and would be willing to go through the alternate certification process to become fully certified).
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in an itinerant or resource setting.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and community resources.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs of students.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction and communication.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
