Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Substitute Early Childhood Assistant Teacher. In this role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. You will step in as needed to ensure continuity of care and education, fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere for all students. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and enjoy working with young children aged 0-5.

This position is flexible. Employee may be notified of shifts to cover in advance or the morning of, in which the employee can accept or decline. Hours may be half-day or whole-day and could range from 7am-5:30pm, but are most often during the hours of 8am-4pm.

Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Supervise and engage with children during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Support children in developing their social skills through positive interactions and guidance.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to education.
- Observe and document children’s progress and behaviors, reporting any concerns to the lead teacher.
- Adapt to various classroom settings and age groups as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom or daycare setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact positively with children, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from lead teachers.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Must pass background checks and any required health screenings.
- Availability to work on short notice and flexibility in scheduling is essential.
