Behind the wheel instructor is responsible for teaching the fundamentals of operating a vehicle safely and proper driving management techniques. All duties must be performed in strict conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

Duties

Instruct students for the purpose of developing driving skills and knowledge pertaining to rules of the road
Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe learning environment
Maintain and prepare all necessary records and reports

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Teaching experience
Ability to collaborate with colleagues

Qualifications

Current Minnesota teaching license with a Driver
Traffic Safety endorsement (this may be completed within one year)

Schedule

Summer, after school and weekend hours possible
Instructors can expect to drive between 200-250 hours per year

Current teachers! You can add the Driver and Traffic Safety endorsement as undergraduate OR graduate credits (from St. Cloud State University). After this initial investment, this is a flexible position with great income potential!
