Nine Mile Falls School District

Job Title: Substitute Teacher

Make a difference in a classroom.
Nine Mile Falls School District is seeking Substitute Teachers who understand that a day in the classroom is never just a day. Students notice who shows up. They notice when a teacher learns their name, gives them another way into the lesson, or helps the room feel steady when their regular teacher is away.

Substitute teaching means carrying forward the learning already in motion while bringing your own presence to the room. Some days will follow the plan closely. Other days will ask you to adjust in the moment. In both, students are still deciding what school feels like for them.

Whether you work with us once in a while or more often, you are part of the school day in a real way. Our schools trust substitutes to care for students and support the classroom. One respectful interaction can stay with a student longer than anyone realizes. For one student, a good day may open a new thought about what is possible after high school. For another, it may simply make school feel possible again.

Be that teacher for our students, even for a day.

Salary: Substitute Teachers will earn $150 per full day or $75 per half day.

Benefits: Substitutes will accrue 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Substitutes who work 630 hours will become benefit-eligible for the remainder of the school year. Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability. Benefits are provided through the School Employee Benefits Board (SEBB) at https://www.hca.wa.gov/employee-retiree-benefits/school-employees
