Salary and Benefits: The Hourly Rate range for the position is: Min.$18.05 - Max.$23.56 Salary placement will be at Step 1 of the Nine Mile Classified Public Employees Association Collective Bargaining Agreement unless documentation of experience is received per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Each employee shall accumulate up to twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. An employee employed less than a full work year shall be entitled to a proportionate part of the sick leave allowance. (Example: An employee working 10 months will receive 10 days of sick leave.) A maximum of three (3) Annual Leave days are provided for all employees based on the employee’s scheduled employment hours per day to be used for an absence during work hours, or to be accumulated for the purpose of cash out.

Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability. Positions anticipated to work 70 hours or more per month for at least 5 months over a 12-month period are eligible for Retirement through the State Department of Retirement Services.

Schedule: 3.25 hours per day Monday-Friday – School Days 10:15 am-1:30 pm (subject to change based on student need)

Work Location: Nine Mile Falls Elementary School

Nature and Scope of Job:
Provide supervision and support for students in both academic and non-academic settings, including classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and lunch areas. Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management. May include working with individual students in one-on-one or small group settings.

Primary Job Functions:

Support students academically in both small group and whole class settings.
Foster positive interactions with students and assist in resolving conflicts or behavioral issues.
Supervise and monitor student behavior in hallways, restrooms, and outdoor areas.
Assist teachers with instructional tasks and classroom management.
Uphold and maintain strict student confidentiality.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Required Qualifications (Traits, Education, Experience, Training, physical requirements, etc.):

Washington State Patrol / FBI Background Check
Be at least eighteen years of age and provide proof of high school graduation or its equivalent.
ETS Parapro Assessment (455); or
a.    Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment (220) (Available in December 2023) or;
b.    The Master Teacher Ins. Paraeducator Online Training Program (65%); or
c. Unofficial Transcript of an Associate of Arts degree; or
d.    Have earned seventy-two quarter credits or forty-eight semester credits at an institution of higher education (provide unofficial transcripts; or
e.    Completed a registered apprenticeship program.
Ability to communicate and work with others
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Present an image appropriate for students.
Ability to willingly follow instructions of supervisor/principal.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
