Terms of Employment and Salary:
As outlined by and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) of Nine Mile Falls Education Association (NMEA) and Policies and Procedures of Nine Mile Falls School District. The annual base salary range for the position is: Min.$55,219.00 - Max.$105,714.00. Salary placement will be at Step 0 of the Nine Mile Educators Association Collective Bargaining Agreement unless documentation of experience is received per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Salary will be prorated to reflect FTE and the number of days worked. Each employee shall accumulate twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. An employee employed less than a full term shall be entitled to a prorated part of the sick leave allowance Each employee shall earn three (3) annual leave days per year. Employees less than 1.0 FTE will receive a prorated share of annual leave based on their FTE.

Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability. Positions anticipated to work 70 hours or more per month for at least 5 months over the school year are eligible for retirement through the State Department of Retirement Services.

Work Location: Nine Mile Falls Elementary

Nature and Scope of Job: (1 or 2 sentence summary of position)
This position will teach Physical Education courses at a variety of grade levels. Our School is seeking a teacher willing to work and learn together to help students exceed standards.

Position Reports To: Heather Gamboa, Principal

Classification: Certificated Teacher

Work Day: Monday – Friday; 2025/26 School Year Contracted Days

Begin: August 2025 through June 2026

Primary Job Functions:

Design and implement developmentally appropriate Physical Education lessons aligned with state and national standards.
Promote physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a safe, supportive environment.
Create inclusive activities that meet the needs of diverse learners and encourage lifelong healthy habits.
Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate physical education into the broader educational experience.
Maintain equipment and ensure safe use of the gym and playground areas.
Maintain accurate lesson plans and appropriate student data and records.
Support the school-wide focus on whole-child development, including social-emotional learning and positive behavior.
Collaborate with staff members.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current Washington State Teaching Certificate
Endorsement in appropriate areas for assignment
Current WSP/FBI Clearance
Successful teaching experience at the appropriate grade level preferred

Develops and maintains effective relationships with employees throughout the district.
Ability to be a positive role model for students.
Skill and experience in teaching physical education.
Effective classroom management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility to work with a dynamic team of teachers in a department and school.
Ability to develop and teach a curriculum that is rigorous and relevant.

Environmental and Physical Requirements

Climate-controlled indoor environment with or without air-conditioning
May be required to supervise outdoors or outside of school grounds (field trips)
Escort students to the lunchroom, library, and or field trips
Managing the activity level of Middle School students
May be required to stand for several hours at a time
