This is a leave replacement position through December 31, 2024 with the potential for extension.

Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities individuals in this position perform maintenance tasks including but not limited to :

Plumbing

Cleaning drains
Re-seating toilets
Minor repairs

Electrical

Changing ballasts
Replacing light fixtures
Switches and receptacle repair
Basic knowledge of three-phase power

HVAC

Change Filters
Lubricate Motors
Change belts

Other

Installing repairing, or replacing door hardware
Basic carpentry

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must possess valid Washington State motor vehicle operator's license which meets the necessary endorsement to operate the vehicles for the maintenance department.
Excellent driving record
Two to five years' experience in maintenance and experience with any or all of the following work areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, metalwork, painting, and/or small motors. vehicle maintenance strongly preferred.

Other Requirements

Ability to work independently
Comprehensive knowledge of buildings and systems
ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools
Ability to work well with others to perform work duties in the best interest of the students and the District.
Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers, supervisors, and administrators.

Requires adaptability and flexibility in working with students and staff; requires effective decision-making and problem-solving; requires ability to respond calmly in emergency situations; must be able to work independently.

Physical Demands

Job requires frequent standing, walking, lifting and bending; Physical ability to occasionally lift and carry 65 pounds, frequently lift and carry 50 pounds and continuously lift and carry 20 pounds. .Physical ability to perform heavy outside work in all types of weather. Job requires use of industrial chemicals and pesticides.

Position may require occasional temporary internal adjustment of duties at the request of the district.
