Cashier Job Description
Days: 1.0 hour per day Monday- Friday
Location: Deer Park High School
Purpose Statement:
Account for school meals served using district procedures, processes, and software. Work with third-party management company to order food and follow USDA guidelines.
Essential Functions:
- Comply with all state food handling laws.
- Maintain accurate records and balances.
- Comply with state and federal regulations.
- Determine what constitutes a reimbursable meal in accordance with school lunch requirements.
- Comply with school district policies and building procedures.
- Support and enforce guidelines for National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.
- Maintain a commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service.
- Establish and maintain positive working relations with staff.
- Observe strict confidentially regarding student and personnel information.
- Work cooperatively and communicate successfully with staff, students, and parents
- Demonstrate a commitment to the education of all children and youth
- Demonstrate professionalism through conduct and punctuality
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the field of commercial food service preferred
- Experience in cash handling preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate with students, staff, and third-party management company
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to operate register and food service accounting program
- Demonstrated skill in approaching issues positively and proactively
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

CLOSING DATE:
Wage: $16.88 - $21.08 per hour depending on experience.
Contract Year: 204-25, 1.0 hours per day Monday – Friday
Benefits: Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability.
