As a Middle School Flex Academy Interventionist:

The Plainwell Middle School Flex Academy serves middle school students that are in need of extra support to be successful with grade-level content. The Flex Academy Interventionist will use a combination of research-based interventions and computer-based curriculum in an alternative environment. The Interventionist will help students increase engagement, build academic skills, and find success in school. The Flex Academy Interventionist will work closely with the middle school academic interventionist as well as collaborate with teachers across different content areas.

This position requires a valid Michigan (elementary/secondary) K-8 All Subjects in Self Contained Classroom teaching certificate with (ZG certification) preferred. We will work with individuals that do not possess a Michigan Teaching Certificate but have a Bachelor’s Degree in related field for certification.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Valid Michigan Elementary/Secondary Teaching Certificate; K-8 All Subjects in Self Contained Classroom teaching certificate with (ZG certification) preferred

· Experience using online/virtual curriculum (preferred)

· Additional experience(s) demonstrating expertise in instructional practices and highly effective teaching (preferred)

· Strong belief that all students can and will be successful

· Able to plan effective, engaging lessons and use data to plan and adjust instruction

· Able to motivate at-risk students

· Ability to interact positively with and motivate students

· Computer applications knowledge and proficiency necessary; Chromebook experience in a 1:1 environment preferred.

· Excellent classroom management

· Willingness to teach a lesson as part of the interview process

STARTING DATE: Start of the 2025-2026 School Year

SALARY: In accordance with PEA Agreement
