Summary:
The Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, as well as on field trips and other school-related activities. The successful candidate will be reliable, punctual, and have a strong commitment to student safety. Routes are 5-6 hours a day with weekly field /athletic trips available. Single subscriber healthcare insurance is also available.
The district will pay for training to obtain your CDL!
Responsibilities:
- Operate a school bus in a safe and efficient manner
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations
- Maintain a clean and safe bus
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Maintain accurate records of daily routes and student ridership
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required
- Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director
Requirements:
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early morning and afternoon hours
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful situations
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Prior experience as a bus driver preferred, but not required.
