Class Advisor Job Posting: Class of 2028

It must be emphasized that when you accept the appointment as the advisor, you also accept the responsibility to move activities in which the organization is involved forward. This involves planning with the students, so that they can have a successful experience. None of us expect the advisor to be responsible for all the activities; however, you must use all of your skills to get the students involved for a positive experience.

A. Selection of Advisors

1. Advisors are approved by the Principal & Student Council Advisor, subject to the approval of the Superintendent.

2. Advisors will apply for the position annually, the position will be posted

In April. Members of the teaching staff as well as other adults in the community are invited to apply and be considered for the position.

3. Whenever possible, the advisor will remain with the class through all 4

years of high school.

B. Responsibility of Advisors

1. Whenever a person accepts the assignment as an advisor of a class or

organization, they automatically assume responsibility. These

responsibilities are as equally important as those in the classroom.

2. The advisor must assume responsibility for advising and monitoring all

of the activities in which the class or organization becomes involved.

This includes float building, showcase and hallway decorating, chaperoning dances, and class meetings.

3. The advisor(s) is expected to be present at all activities carried out by the group from beginning to end. Advisors must ensure that all students have been safely picked up at the end of an activity.

4. Out of courtesy, please give at least one week advance notice to any

chaperone invited to an activity. With that, it is highly encouraged to

do your best to include all parents in activities.

5. Advisor must also have a location to store the Homecoming Float (before, during construction and afterward) and have flexible time to allow for float building during the summer, after-school hours, and weekends leading up to Homecoming, which takes place September 27, 2024 (Date subject to change).

6. Works with students and colleagues in arranging dances, fund-raisers and functions.

Keep track of class dues
Maintains finances of the group with official documentation including receipts and tracking paperwork.
Funds are turned-in to the school office and placed in the class account.
1. Advisor must have proper paperwork filled out and money counted before turning cash in to the office.

7. Responds to all school related written correspondence, phone calls, voicemails, and emails within 24 business hours.

8. Performs other duties as assigned
