JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Lead Maintenance

Reports to: Assistant Director of Operations

Evaluation: Annually in accordance with Board’s policy.

Terms of Employment: Two hundred sixty (260) days. Salary per Board approved contract.

Job Summary:

As Lead Maintenance, you are the conductor of a symphony of maintenance excellence. Your role is to ensure that our school facilities not only meet but exceed safety and functionality standards, creating an environment that sets the stage for optimal learning experiences. Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

Lead the maintenance team with finesse!, providing guidance, training, and inspiration to elevate their work to exceptional standards.
Cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment, where each team member contributes to the success of our maintenance operations.

Building Maintenance:

Oversee the meticulous care of our school buildings. From plumbing to electrical systems, HVAC, and structural elements, ensure they're not just maintained but optimized for safety and efficiency.
Conduct proactive inspections, addressing potential issues before they become challenges.

Equipment Maintenance:

Manage the heartbeat of our facilities! Oversee the maintenance of school equipment, including boilers, generators, and machinery.
Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and inspections, ensuring everything runs seamlessly.

Custodial Support:

Collaborate seamlessly with custodial staff, bridging the gap between maintenance and cleanliness.
Ensure a harmonious integration between custodial and maintenance operations, creating an environment that gleams with pride.

Safety and Compliance:

Be the guardian of safety! Enforce protocols and ensure compliance with regulations, conducting regular safety inspections.
Develop and implement emergency response plans, coordinating with authorities during unforeseen incidents.

Collaboration with School Administrators:

Be the go-to expert! Collaborate with school administrators, understanding their facility needs and addressing unique maintenance challenges.
Communicate effectively with school staff, keeping them informed and involved in maintenance schedules and projects.

Budget Oversight:

Be the financial maestro! Assist in developing and monitoring the maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising excellence.
Ensure efficient resource allocation, creating a financial symphony that sings of efficiency.

Contractor Management:

Coordinate the external experts! Oversee external contractors for specialized projects, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and deliver work at the highest standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

Be the archivist of success! Maintain meticulous records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inventory.
Generate insightful reports on maintenance operations and performance, showcasing our commitment to excellence.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in facilities management or a related field is preferred.
Proven 5 years experience in maintenance or facilities management, with supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledgeable in building systems, codes, and maintenance best practices.
Familiarity with safety regulations and emergency response procedures.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of budget management principles.
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor.
Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.
