POSITION TITLE: Math Teacher – Perry High School-2025-2026 School Year-Perry High School is seeking a passionate and innovative math teacher who is committed to fostering deep learning and empowering students to apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. The ideal candidate will embrace the Perry Public Schools' learning philosophy, which emphasizes acquisition, meaning-making, and transfer, and effectively integrate authentic learning experiences with technology (ALT model) into their instructional practices

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Valid Michigan Teaching Certification to teach secondary math required

· Ability to teach a variety of math courses

· Criminal background check including fingerprinting required

REPORTS TO: High School Principal

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide engaging and relevant math education for Perry High School students, aligning curriculum with state standards and the district's focus on acquisition, meaning-making, and transfer.
Engage in collaborative instructional planning to design learning experiences that encourage students to construct their own understanding of key concepts.
Facilitate learning in the classroom by creating opportunities for students to actively engage with content, make meaningful connections, and develop their critical thinking skills.
Design and implement tasks that promote that students independently apply their learning to new and authentic situations, preparing them for future challenges.
Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment that supports active learning, collaboration, and intellectual risk-taking.
Develop, provide, and utilize a variety of instructional plans, strategies, methods, materials, and technologies that effectively meet the diverse learning needs of students and align with the principles of the ALT model.
Communicate clearly and effectively with parents, both in writing and verbally, regarding student progress and learning experiences.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow professionally alongside colleagues, contributing to a collaborative and innovative school culture.
Adhere to all building and district policies regarding attendance, business procedures, safety, professionalism, and personal appearance.
Maintain accurate student records, track student achievement, and manage attendance using district-approved technology.
Maintain the confidentiality of student information.
Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
