5th Grade Teacher

Lewis & Clark Elementary

1.0 FTE, Continuing Contract

DESCRIPTION: Instruct 5th grade students in a Dual Language program setting. Teach Spanish language arts, including science instruction in Spanish. Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instruction consistent with program and district curriculum. Report pupil progress to parents; support programs and building/district in-service education programs; attend meetings and conferences as required. Other related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Washington state certification with appropriate endorsement. Bilingual/biliterate (English/Spanish) Required. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum and instructional practices are a must. Experience in elementary age core content areas is highly preferred. Experience with elementary level English Language Arts and Math curriculum. Experience implementing Reading Science, using the wonders curriculum, i-ready reading and math online. Strong interpersonal skills is a must. Ability to work as a team player, including collaboration around the use of student growth data is a must. Knowledge and experience implementing Positive Behavioral Intervention Support (PBIS) preferred. Working knowledge and experience in implementing the strategies for creating a trauma-sensitive classroom preferred. Required
